By Cindy McGill
I have always been interested in visions and dreams. I am a very active dreamer from recurring dreams to the weird one timers you spend a while trying to figure out. Sometimes you can tell that what you went to bed with on your mind comes out in your dream other times you can’t even remember the moment you wake up but deep in your spirit you feel something was going on. McGill touches on what dreams mean and I saw this book as good starting point to understanding them. For example, some dreams are real and lead you to take actions in real life and some are a interpretive. What Your Dreams are Telling You also has a dream journal in the back that may help you organize your thoughts about your dreams. It is detailed and organized for coming back to read later. It has an appendix of dream symbols that is only about 3 pages long, which left a bit to be desired on my part. But she does include a list of inspirational stories of famous people who invented things that they saw in their dreams.
I always enjoy books that have chapters ending with the main theme of the chapter because I like to refer back often. This book has “Takeaways Points” at the end of each chapter. I enjoyed reading them before and after reading the text as a teaser and then as a reiteration. I also value the biblical integration on dreams. The bible is full of text about visions and dreams and she refers to them throughout. She testifies to interpreting her clients dreams and the positive outcomes of doing so. She also lays out how to interpret your own dreams and a way to put your dreams into certain categories. I would say this is a good book for those who are interested in beginning to understand the world of visions and dreams.
