Book Review: Illustrated Family Bible Stories

What can I say? The Illustrated Family Bible Stories: Over 200 beautifully illustrated events from the Old and New Testaments is a must have! New Leaf Press Publishers comprised this book through Parragon Books Ltd. It is a vividly descriptive representation of the most common bible stories. It is broken up into mini-sections of bible topics.

Aside from the written portion of each of the Old and New Testament sections, each part includes illustrations, pictures, maps and charts enhancing the written portion. As a teacher this is the perfect accompaniment for teaching biblical lessons. As a parent, the opportunity to guide your children in learning about these historical accounts is priceless.

There is so much to discover as one reads the stories or focus on the marginal content that adds specific information related to the topics. Some examples are how the papyrus plant was used to write on, the use of certain clothing to express luxury and sophistication, the meaning of the fish symbol and other tidbits that one can discover background information on traditions and history using scripture references throughout. At the end there is an Index, Reference and a Who’s Who Section enriched with more information on daily life in Bible times.

This book was given to me as part of the Moms of Master Books Review Team to review. The opinions expressed are my own.
