Cute pictures and story line was my first impression. A fish obeying and helping his grandmother preserve her home, prepared by God to fulfill a calling, yet caught in a net… the suspense builds! As you read through this book with your “baby” there will be plenty of exciting moments to dwell on together. Young ones are going to need help with this storybook’s vocabulary. But with mom and dad’s or grandparent’s help a child and a fish who sleeps in a shell will become wonderful friends.
Wonderful words like Galilee and Capernaum are included in this text. I can see many teachable moments coming out of this writing with a lot of Biblical cross references to tap into.
Props go out to Krystahl Goodale, the illustrator, as well with the precious and inviting pictures of under the sea life in combination with Bible times.
